Event Planner Income Calculator

See what an event planning business could earn you. Set your fee per event, how many events you take in a year, and whether you take supplier commission.

Estimated annual revenue
$48,000
Per event$4,000
Monthly average (event work is seasonal)$4,000
Rough take-home (~75% on your own)$36,000

A projection from what you entered, not a promise and not a market survey. Real take-home depends on your fee, how many inquiries turn into bookings, and how much of the year is peak season, which is what Units 3, 6 and 10 work through.

What the numbers really mean

Revenue is what you invoice. Take-home is what is left after software, insurance, marketing and, if you use them, the coordinators you pay on the day. Working on your own keeps a large share of every dollar and caps how many events you can physically run, which is the trade Unit 9 is about.

The path to a bigger number is rarely more events. It is a higher fee, a better answer to the inquiries you already get, and clients who rebook every year without a pitch. For the full breakdown, read the income guide.

Earnings FAQs

How much do event planners earn?

It comes down to three numbers: your fee per event, how many events you take in a year, and how much of that you keep. Twelve events at $4,000 is a different business from thirty at $1,500, even though the revenue is similar, and the second one is far more work. Model your own numbers above, then read the income guide for what moves each of the three.

Is event planning profitable?

The margins are high because the overheads are low: software, insurance, marketing and your own time. What makes or breaks the year is not margin but volume and seasonality, since most markets have a peak season and a long quiet stretch either side of it. Unit 10 covers managing cash flow across that, and adding revenue that does not depend on peak weekends.

How do I earn more as an event planner?

Four levers, in the order they usually pay off: raise the fee, take fewer and larger events rather than more small ones, win corporate or annual accounts that rebook without a pitch, and bring on on-the-day staff so two events in one weekend is possible. The Fast Track course covers all four.
